This module covers surface, dimensional assessment, and post-processing methods to optimize AM quality.
This course provides an overview of quality assurance techniques, focusing on surface topography analysis and dimensional accuracy assessment, as well as a short overview of a variety of post-processing processes applied for additively manufactured components. The module also covers a wide range of examples and applications from both lectures and supplementary learning materials to illustrate the potential of different post-AM technologies for optimizing the properties and functionality of AM components in dependence on required performance and application.
This module take about 4 hours per week over 5 weeks to complete (20 hours in total). Webinars are included where you engage in deeper discussions on selected topics, together with teachers and co-learners. You will be onboarded to the learning portal on Friday before the starting date.
This module begins with a welcome video introducing the tutors of this course, followed by a practicality video illustrating the use of the e-learning platform to optimize your learning experience. The module is organized into four chapters as per the module objectives. The module is based on a set of recorded lectures supported by additional videos and self-study materials, along with recommended references, quizzes, and reflection assignments. The course is also designed to include webinars for live interactions with tutors encouraging discussions and Q&As.
